George Kuchel

George A. Kuchel MD CM is a geriatrician and translational geroscientist at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, CT, USA. His research has focused on interventions designed to enhance function and independence in older adults by targeting shared biological mechanisms involved in host defense, mobility, cognition and continence. He leads a NIA Claude D. Pepper Older Americans Independence Center at UConn, one of only 15 such centers of excellence in the US. Dr Kuchel is also PI of the NIA Geroscience Education and Training Network, the NIH Common Fund KAPP-Sen Cellular Senescence Tissue Mapping Center, as well as multiple PI of the NIA Translational Geroscience Network.
